Thanks for this episode. I have to tell you may horror store with doing the coupons and grocery list Lisa and Spencer. I have found that my Grocery Store will allow me to compile my grocery list on their website free. I can check for sale items and add them to my list. The only downfall is that if the sale is pasta for 10 boxes for $10 it will autofill the amount for 10. Well the problem is that when i made the list and printed it out for my boyfriend, since he was buying the groceries that trip, he saw 10 boxes of pasta. Would you believe it, he bought us 10 lbs of pasta, all the same kind too. and saw 1 jar of spagetti sauce. and the poor man never put two and two together. we still laugh to this day and i make sure i make a list that is simple proof. We have also found that we go to the super walmart with our list and flyers and save like $200 a week on food. We use there reduced prices, price match and all my wonderful coupons and save soo much!! Also, i love the links. thanks and keep them coming.
A good way that my family has been cutting our produce bill is with bountiful baskets (bountifulbaskets.org). They aren’t in every state, but this may be a helpful resource for some of your listeners. Basically, it’s a produce co-op, and for 15.00 per week (plus 1.50 handling fee) you go on a Saturday morning and collect a laundry basket full of fruits and veggies. It’s about half fruit and half veggies. You don’t know what you’re going to get until you arrive, but it’s normal foods that my family eats, and the veggies that I’m not familiar with have just given me an excuse to learn new recipes! I’ve been doing this for about 2 months now, and the quality has been outstanding.

Angie, I checked out the site and I love it! I wish they were in NC. I emailed them to see how we could get one started here and am waiting to hear back. It sounds like a wonderful resource.
