In this episode, we talk about what being debt-free really means and overcoming the irrational “I want it now” thinking.

Listeners supporting listeners: One of our listeners, Vito, and his family are raising money to go on a missions trip to Ireland to minister to youth. In short, he and his group tries to be the hands and feet of Jesus so that the youth there will hear the message. Since Vito has been a great supporter of our show, we wanted to give back by letting you all know about his plans. He needs to raise $5,000 for the trip to Ireland, and you can donate directly on his ChipIn page or by ordering fresh roasted coffee from him for $12.50 per pound plus shipping (medium and dark roast are available). If you’d like to order coffee, email him at IrelandONine(at)gmail(dot)com with your order. Most importantly, pray. He and his family need your prayers. (He is also raising an additional $6,000 for another missions trip for a girl who is undergoing surgery this year. Her dream is to go to Kenya to minister to children, and Vito is helping to make that happen for her. His ChipIn page shows a total of $10,000 that needs to be raised by November.)

Hey Lisa-
I would really check into your local dog shelters. You may be surprised at what they have. There are a lot of purebreds in shelters, and sometimes there are specific breed rescue groups. For instance, I know they have one for golden retrievers, grey hounds, and other dogs. The place we got Lizzie from has smaller breeds too. Some of the best dogs are in shelters and need homes. You may even be able to find a puppy. Good luck on working on your snowball!

I found the pets section on Craigslist yesterday, and there’s quite a few dogs available there too. I know we’re not ready yet, but when we are, I know a shelter or rehomed dog is the way to go. It’s that *want* that I have to get over!
There is a great thread on Dave’s Forum where I sometimes lurk for free .
They talk about how when once you had no oxygen, then get a little breathing room it’s tempting to loose your gazelle intensity. This is a dangerous time as many people even go ‘off program’ here instead of seeing it thru to the finish line. To see it you’ll need to copy and paste this link.
